New Years’ Resolutions! We all make them, but do we stick to them? Unlikely. Why? Who knows. One of my resolutions was to blog my heart out for the year 2023… either my blog takes off, or it crashes and burns. Regardless, it’ll be a change and I am ready for a change!
So, I am sitting here writing my post at 8 pm on 12/31/2022… what can I say? I’m ambitious. It’s a cute quality I promise! But I digress, I always start my posts with a quote. Have you wondered why I do that? It’s not because I am original… I promise. I stole the idea from one of my favorite shows in high school. One Tree Hill. Every episode began with a quote and I love how that tied everything in a pretty bow, so I stole it. But, shh, it’ll be our secret. The quote that resonates with this post is;
Michael Josephson once said – “Approach the new year with resolve to find the opportunities hidden in each new day.” Bam. Short and sweet. But that’s not the only reason I chose this quote. It resonates with me because I like to organize my life in timeframes. The timeframes that make sense to me are the ones we are all used to. Every year is different. Every year is a new opportunity. So every year has new goals. Some years are good, some are bad, but I always strive for a better successive year. I want to achieve all my goals, but I also want to enjoy life. It’s too damn short. I have experienced so many bombs in my 32 years on this earth that most people don’t experience in 75 years, so I’m on an enlightened path to enjoyment. But that doesn’t mean I am quitting my path to medicine. Although it is a long, hard, tedious path, it is the path that makes me happy. It has always been my dream and always will be. However, things are going to be different now on this blog. My old format gave me a bad case of imposter syndrome. It didn’t feel authentic or natural, so I am going about it differently. It’s still going to be med and fashion, but I want to add elements of lifestyle in it as well. I want this blog to be like me. In all my wonders – both good and bad. I want my path to be shared the way it is, not the way it should be, because life usually does not always occur the way it should. If I can reach at least one person and show them that messy works. You can still get where you want; you can still enjoy the good even when the bad sucks horribly. Life is good, and it’ll be however you make it.
Thanks for reading. Happy New Year. Here’s to 2023!
